Israel has always claimed that nuclear weapons in the hands of countries with stated policy of "eliminating" the Zionist threat would be an "existential threat" of such a magnitude as to justify the destruction of any facities prior to such a threat being realized. And so Israel has taken out facilities in Syria, and previously in Iraq (coincidentally also attacked by Iran), and has promised to prevent any potential enemy from realizing ambitions to build nuclear weapons.
As to whether such an "all in" stance is justified, one has only to look at a map and see that if Israels' two main cities were "nuked, " over 80% of it's territory and population would be gone, population killed or poisoned, territory unihabitable.
