I disagree. Greece and other situations are directly due to overspendi

s buying votes with with outlandish benefit programs for less-than-
enthusiast
ic "workers." When the government is the largest employer, both directly and indirectly (hint, hint), you pay more and get less. Whether you define social programs as entitlemen
ts or as insurance policy contracts, you still have too many people, getting paid too much, to support them. Take Medicaid, where it started out reasonably
, with poverty-le
vel incomes the qualifier for benefits. Since then many states have raised the qualifying income threshold to 200%, 300%, even 400% of the minimum (up to $75,80,000 in some states), added additional benefits (CHIP) and others thereby costing states and federal government hundred of Billions more than a lower benefit level.
Wars? I agree that making large "wars"and nation building out of what should have been a "hunt til destroyed" Special Forces mission is running up bills over a Trillion to date (That's Trillions with a big "T" folks!).
Tax preference
s and subsidies that only misallocat
e capital should be ended for EVERYBODY!
Restructur
e Health Care and Education through private enterprise
, saving over $1,000,000
,000 (even up to $2 T) Trillion a year! (that's Trillion with a big T" folks!).
I prefer ending tax preference
s, subsidies and incentives instead of raising taxes. Oh, and ending just a few little geo-monopo
lies and market share monopolies would also save hundreds of Billions! (that's Billions with a big B"B folks!)
Enjoyed "talking" with you.
