The appeal of applying such a broad brush to everything societally wrong is... attractive

The temptation to do the same thing with laws and regulation
s is equally appealing.
The problem is that until we restore our society to "personal decisions, personal consequenc
es; individual opportunit
y, individual achievemen
t," people like this woman and so many others, know that Progressiv
e Socialism will "take care of them" and allow their mistakes with virtually no consequenc
es. And so everyone knows that I am pragmatic on this, no President for generation
s, Republican or Democrat, has addressed the issue of correcting the harmful direction of American society.
